CWAA Music Program

At Chinook Winds Adventist Academy, our K-12 music program is designed to inspire students to use their musical gifts to glorify God, build community, and enrich their education. Rooted in Christian values, our program offers a variety of opportunities for students to explore their passion for music, develop their talents, and deepen their faith.

Program Highlights:

  • K-6 Music – Our elementary program encourages students to lift their voices in praise and worship. As students move into grades 3-6, they start to learn instruments such as recorders and ukuleles, and eventually an instrument of their own.
  • Secondary Band – Our band program fosters a spirit of excellence and teamwork as students learn to play instruments, read music, and perform as part of an ensemble. Whether it’s performing uplifting worship music or dynamic instrumental pieces, our band students use their talents to celebrate God’s glory.
  • Secondary Choir – From joyful hymns to historical period pieces, choir members learn to express their faith through song while developing vocal technique, harmony, and performance skills. The choir performs at school events, chapel services, and local community outreach events, sharing the message of Christ through music.

Why Choose Our Music Program?

  • Faith Integration: Music is a powerful tool for worship and ministry. Our program integrates faith with music education, encouraging students to understand music as a way to express their love for God and serve others.
  • Expert Instruction: Our music director, Ms. Karenda Swain is passionate about both music and ministry. Ms. Swain is eager to provide personalized guidance to help each student grow musically and spiritually.
  • Performance Opportunities: Students have the chance to perform at various events throughout the year, including school concerts, worship services, community events, and more.
  • Community and Fellowship: Being part of our music program offers a unique opportunity for students to build friendships, support one another, and grow in their faith journey together.
