Principal’s Message:

Christ Remains

There’s an old song I came across this weekend called Christ Remains by Phil Driscoll ( I recall this song being very important to me while passing through a painful time a number of years ago. The words served as an anchor at the time – to give me hope that Christ was steadfast through uncertainty and turmoil. The lyrics go like this:

When dreams are rudely shattered and plans are torn apart

And I’m left to try to gather the fragments of my heart

In the darkness hope is there, shining like a flame

Christ remains, Christ remains

My provider, my protector always watching over me

My comforter my counselor, He/You is all I need

A constant in the chaos, a source of strength unchanged

Every day the same

Christ remains, Christ remains

When silence steals my prayers and I feel all alone

As the valley of the shadow claims the dearest ones I’ve known

Then I crawl toward my refuge, a shelter in each pain

Christ remains, Christ remains

There are so many experiences that we pass through on this side of heaven which cause us to question and fear the future. We are all faced with uncertainty and pain, with situations in which we cannot control. Right now at our school one of our dearest teachers, Mr. Fowler, is passing through an excruciatingly painful time as he walks alongside his wife, Shelda as she is dying from cancer. There are countless other students, staff and parents who are facing physical, emotional and spiritual trauma or grief – and looking for an anchor, someone to hold on to – someone who is unchangeable and dependable. That person is Jesus Christ. Praise Jesus that He is our rock – our safe place, our fortress and deliverer. Praise God that we can take refuge and be shielded from hopelessness.

Praise God that “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever”! (Hebrews 13:8)

Chaplain’s Message:

It is that time of year again when our CWAA school family has the opportunity to participate in packing Operation Christmas Child boxes for kids in underprivileged parts of the world! Do you want to play a part in making a kid’s year more bright? Join us in packing a box (or multiple boxes) for this special project! I want to see if the CWAA school family can pack 225 boxes this year. If you would like some boxes, please contact Pastor Brent Wilson. Some classes will probably pack boxes as a class activity. Some families will want to take boxes home to pack as a family. Please get your boxes turned in by Friday, November 17, 2017. This is another great opportunity to be Servants of Life!

“And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’” (Matthew 25:40, NLT)
