CWAA’s HIKE-A-THON will be held on FRIDAY, JUNE 6. This year our hike-a-thon will take place OFF school campus. At 10:45 a.m. on June 6, students, staff and parent volunteers will be bused (by Southland Transportation) from CWAA to the trail-head of the Bow River Pathway (at Valley Glen Heights NW). Students will hike by the Bow River to Baker’s Park, where they will be picked up by at 12:45 p.m. Our students have chosen to raise money for a Calgary charity called “Kid’s Cancer Care” (70% of the money raised will go towards Kid’s Cancer Care and 30% of the money raised will go towards the CWAA Basement Project). Kid’s Cancer Care is a local charity that helps support kids fighting cancer by providing camps for children, community education, family support groups and raising for cancer research and treatment (www.kidscancercare.ab.ca). Our Goal is to raise between $1,500 and $2,000 for the Kid’s Cancer Care! Please join us in hiking and showing kindness to our local neighbor, Kid’s Cancer Care. Parent volunteers are welcome and needed … if you’re able to volunteer please contact your child’s homeroom teacher. All students were given a Hike-a-Thon Pledge Sheet. Please help your child(ren) find donors to support this great cause!

“So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.” (Hebrews 4:14–16 NLT).
We have a representative in heaven who understands what it is like to live on earth! What a privilege it is to be able to walk through life with Jesus guiding and strengthening us!
