Principal’s Message:

By Debbonnaire Kovacs

And it came to pass on a certain day that the children of God came together before the Lord, and Satan came among them. When the Lord saw Satan, He said, “Where have you come from?” Satan answered, “From walking to and fro on my planet, the earth.” God did not appear to be overly impressed, so Satan continued boldly, “I have come to publicly declare a grievance. Have You noticed my servant Jason? He is a man after my own heart. Every imagination of his heart is evil continually, and in all things he seeks only to please me. Of course, he thinks merely to please himself, but his understanding will grow with time. He is not interested in You, or in Your rules, or anything about Your kingdom. Is that not so?” Pain crossed our heavenly Father’s face as He nodded. “It is so.” “Now You, O great God of the universe”—Satan gave a mocking bow—“are righteous and just at all times, are You not?” God looked Satan straight in the eye. “I am.” Satan said with a sneer, “And You have given every man, woman, and child on my planet the freedom to choose between You and me, have You not?” “I have.” God said. “Then why is it that Your Holy Spirit continually hovers over my servant Jason, whispering to him, pleading with him, nagging him to join Your side? Every time I try to get him to do something for me, my angels first have to fight off Your angels. You are invading his thoughts, interfering with his choices, and making his life miserable! By what right do You do these things?” God answered, “Jason may be your servant now, but I still love him.” Satan snarled, “I don’t care, You gave him a choice, and he chose me! You are breaking your own laws!” There was a moment of shocked silence in the throne room, then a surge of movement among the angels around the throne. God lifted His hand, and the room grew still. Very quietly God asked, “Have you noticed my servant Anne? Anne is a woman after My own heart, and every thought of her heart is only to please Me. Yet I notice you are always whispering to her, ready to attack her. My angels continually fight yours for her safety.” Satan smiled. “I never promised to play fair!” God let it pass. “When Anne came to Me, she and I made a covenant together. She would be My child. She would love Me, trust Me, look to Me for guidance, and stay close to My side every day of her life. She would place all that she is, has, or ever hopes for in My hands. I would be her Father. I would keep her safe from you and all your snares. I would care for her, teach her, and love her with all My heart. And I would answer every prayer she prayed within My will and in My Son’s name. “Since that day Anne has asked Me for many things. Some I have refused, since they were not in My will for her. But every day of our life together Anne has asked Me for one thing above all others. She has asked Me for the life of her son Jason. Anne prays with persistence, and with thanksgiving, and without fear, because she trusts Me. I have given her My word.” Suddenly God stood up, and Satan cringed and fell back. It made him furious, but he couldn’t help it as the voice of the Father, like flames of fire, flowed over his head. “My covenant with my daughter Anne was signed by My right hand, sealed by the blood of My Son, and delivered by the eternal presence of My Holy Spirit in her life! That is My legal right over your client. Be gone! Satan fled. The cheers of the angels sped his passing.

Chaplain’s Message:

It is great to see students commit their lives to Jesus through baptism! This past Friday night and Sabbath, 7 of our CWAA students demonstrated their decision to follow God through baptism or rebaptism. Congratulations to CJ, Gabriel, Hadassa, Fernanda, June, Cristina and Giovanna! May each of you always keep your focus on Jesus!

“For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with him you were raised to new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead.” (Colossians 2:12 NLT)
