The Breeze – October 15, 2013

NEW DATE FOR OUR SECONDARY STUDENT-LED CONFERENCES!  Grades 7-12 parents are warmly invited to attend our Student-Led Conferences next week on Thursday, October 24 from 4-8 p.m. The purpose of the Student-Led Conferences is to allow your child to tell the story of their own success and to show what they are learning! Your child(ren) will be selecting work samples, analyzing their strengths and weaknesses as a learner, and setting possible goals for the remainder of the school year. Please come to this conference prepared to listen, acknowledge your child’s effort and growth, and ask questions of your child. We look forward to seeing you here! Remember – successful students are supported by involved parents!

Please find attached a copy of the ‘Alberta Adventist Education Communication’ newsletter.  This is the fist issue of this new school year and there are highlights from Chinook Winds Adventist Academy along with other Adventist Schools in the Alberta Conference region.

SPORTS – For game schedules and practices please refer to our school website at cwaa.net.

The Walla Walla University Fall Classic is in the books for 2013.  It was a great success and everyone (students/sponsors) had an excellent five day trip.  On the field, the soccer team finished 6th overall.  Last year the team was 11th so an improvement of five spots.  The Cyclones tournament MVP was Elliot Blackburn.  On the court, the girls volleyball team finished in 5th place overall.  This was the highest placing yet by our Lady Cyclones and an improvement of 3 spots from last year.  The Cyclones tournament MVP was our captain, Samantha Webster. Thank you students, parents, sponsors for your support and energy in making this trip truly meaningful.
