SCHOOL HOLIDAYS … Monday, November 11 and Tuesday, November 12 there is no school. Monday is Remembrance Day and Tuesday is a Professional/Organizational Day for our teachers. Make sure you remember our Veterans. They fought for the many freedoms we enjoy!
ELEMENTARY STUDENT- LED CONFERENCES! Grades Kindergarten to Grade 6 parents are warmly invited to attend our Student-Led Conferences next week on Thursday, November 14 from 4-8 p.m. The purpose of the Student-Led Conferences is to allow your child to tell the story of their own success and to show what they are learning! Please come to this conference prepared to listen, acknowledge your child’s effort and growth, and ask questions of your child. You will also be asked to help complete goals and develop a plan to achieve them. Please contact the office or email firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule a convenient time during these hours. We look forward to seeing you here! Remember – successful students are supported by involved parents!
CONSTITUENCY MEETING POSTPONED UNTIL MARCH 2014 – At our last Board Meeting it was decided that our annual Constituency Meeting would be moved from December 5 to March 2014. The reason for this change was to allow the constituent members to have more input into the budget for the upcoming year. (The budget that is typically approved in December is the budget for the current school year therefore, the constituent members have effectively no input in the design of the actual budget.) Since all CWAA parents are constituent members, all parents are invited to participate in our Constituency Meeting in March!
SPIRIT WEEK BRINGS US TOGETHER! Last week we enjoyed a blessing at our school! Spirit Week came to CWAA! Not only was the week an exciting time of sharing favorite clothes, individual personalities and creative ideas, but it was a time to bond together in a common purpose. The Class Theme Day on Friday was the most thrilling day of the week! During the last 30 minutes of our day on Friday each class came to the gym to participate in our Theme Parade! Each homeroom class burst into the gym with their unique and carefully constructed class costumes: Grade 1- Cowboys, Grade 2 – Pirates, Grade 3 – Angry Birds, Grade 4 – Cheerleaders & Jocks, Grade 5 – Disney Characters, Grade 6 – Restaurant Mascots, Grade 7 – Masquerades, Grade 8 – 80’s Superstars, Grade 9 – Athletes, Grade 10 – School Stereotypes, Grade 11 – Ninja’s, Grade 12 – Superheros! It was a great opportunity to cheer one another on and build relationships! Thank you to all parents who helped make our “spirit filled week”!

Remembrance Day: war, conflict, death, sacrifice, freedom, love. As we take some time to remember the veterans and military personnel who have sacrificed so much for our freedom, also take some time to remember the One who sacrificed Himself so that we can experience the freedom of forgiveness! May He instill love and spirit of sacrifice in us as we live for Him today!
“This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” (John 15:12–13 NLT).
